Although powdercoating is Total Trax most popular and durable alloy wheel refurbishment service, diamond cut finishes are also a very desired finish. Many cars are fitted with diamond cut finished wheels.
Diamond cut wheels are on the increase and are becoming very popular with almost all car manufacturers. This is a very complex process and is normally combined with the painted backing colour so as to achieve a two tone wheel effect.
To achieve a diamond cut finish the wheel must firstly be powder coated in the desired base colour, then with the use of a computer controlled lathe the wheel is scanned and then the profile is plotted to produce the unique programme. The wheels are spun at extremely high speeds as a diamond tipped machining tools are used to remove a thin layer of material from the face of the wheel to create this effect. To ensure a long lasting finish the wheel is then powder lacquered in the highest quality powder available that suits this application.
This is a highly skilled process so here at Total Trax our highly trained technicians will cut every wheel to ensure our usual high standards. Our diamond cutting lathe can cut any deep dish, spilt rim or multi spoke wheels sizes up to 26" while running on 2016 scan and plot software.
Diamond cutting can be applied to the full face and lip of the wheel, combined with an application of base coat paint can produce some spectacular finishes.
